    Time period:- Second World War.

Joe Bones as a soldier is hopeless, but he does have one redeeming quality that is, he can ascend any unclimbable mountain, brick, building or other vertical surfaces, using just his bare hands and feet. (Although in extreme cases he does occasinally use climbing equipment). Bones is also very courageous character.

Lord Plimpton, working for the Foreign Office is his boss and always accompanied Bones on his top secret World War Two missions. This to me seemed very foolhardy as Plimpton has access to all sorts of top secret plans. Luckily for the Allied war effort, the Germans never found this out! Plimpton is though an unflappable Englishman and isn't the sort of chap to be beaten by overwhelming odds.

I’m assuming that the Bones and Plimpton characters were popular as there were several series. But this is a series which I didn’t particularly enjoy. The writer(s) and artist(s) for the series are unknown.
