Main cast:- Tommy Perfitt and his father John Perfitt; Kopet, son of Khivan Khan.

Time period:- 15th century, Mongolia.

The Perfitt's are Franks and traders who are making their way to China in search of gold, silks and precious stones that could be obtained in vast quantities. Enroute their party is attacked and John Perfitt is captured by Akhlet Dagh, leader of a villainious Mongolian tribe. Perfitt senior believes his son Tommy has been killed. However, he is found by another Mongolian tribe those chieften Khivan Khan, makes him a slave and gives him to his son, Kopet. Slaves wear wooden collars.

Tommy's first instinct is to escape at the first opportunity. But he finds that Kopet outside his father's camp is friendly, lonely and scared of others, who would wish him death. Tommy and Kopet become friends and after many adventures is eventually freed by Kopet and re-united with his father.

And yes, the villains come to a sticky end!
