See The Hotspur issues 412 - 425.

Writer:- The Hotspur editorial team. Artist:- Terry Patrick.

Main cast:- Mark Arabin, a scientist; Frank Wylie, Royal Navy engineer; Captain Peter Kingswood, a British Intelligence Officer.

Time period:- World War Two.

Mark Arabin, a scientist has developed a machine that can render objects invisible to the naked eye. Known as the Rippler the device can cloak a small boat and thus allows Arabin, Kingswood, an Intelligence Officer and small crew, the chance to confuse and confound the Germans. The theme of the series is set around making preparations for D-Day, the invasion of German Nazi occupied France.

A brief explanation of how the Rippler works is provided in the first episode. I bet the writer had great fun racking his / her brains coming up with a plausible suggestion that would also be understood by young readers. Equally the artist Terry Patrick had his work cut out in having to draw invisible men and boats!

The following adventures of Launch X-33 are from issues 412; 413; 418 and 419.
