Red Dagger D.C. Thomson Compilation Picture comics.
Page updated June 2011 with details about a Red Dagger Braddock story published in Spanish.
Readers who had missed some or all of a characters adventures or who just wished they could have their favourite characters adventures compiled into one
or more volumes, got their wish with D.C. Thomson's Red Dagger comics. These 64 page compilation books featured a different story and character every month.
Braddock featured three times and Alf Tupper just twice. The stories weren't just from the
Victor and the Hornet, they also featured stories from other D.C. Thomson comics such as Bullet, Wizard, Warlord and the Hotspur.
With the re-interest in the Victor and British comics in general, perhaps future compilations maybe published. Lets hope so.
I'm hoping to add further front cover scans as they become available.
Below is a list of all thirty Red Dagger issues published and several front cover scans.
My thanks to Jamie Stripe for the front cover scans of Red Dagger issues 6 and 7.

The Red Dagger front cover scans are from issues 6, 7, 10, 13, 1, 19, 22, 28 and 29 respectively. Not all of these stories appeared in the Victor or Hornet comics. But
those that didn't do have Ian Kennedy illustrated covers. So that's good enough for me and I wouldn't want to deprive many of his fans from seeing his work.
(Note - the front cover of issue 7 below is not I think by Kennedy. However, I believe that the colour cover is by Kennedy.
On a recent trip to Barcelona, I visited a weekly book and comic fair, where I bought a Spanish copy of Red Dagger 12 Braddock and the Flying Tigers.
The front cover and three pages have been reproduced below. For those of you those Spanish is slightly rusty (mine's seized solid), the English
version is produced below the Spanish version. There are possibly other Red Daggers that have been published in Spanish, but at the moment I have
no other details. The front colour cover below for the Spanish version of the story might be the same as the British version, on the other hand it
might not be! I've no confirmation on this as yet.
