As promised last month, July's update focus again on Danny ‘Dozy’ Lorimer, a young lad who is mad about football. (I will at some point update this page with stories from issue 268 onwards. Assuming they are new stories and not reprints).

Danny's nickname of Dozy is as a result of the boy working so hard that he falls asleep, whenever and wherever he can.

Like many of the Thomson characters, Danny had bullying relatives, lived in poor accommodation, but was always cheerful and determined.

The Dozy Danny series appeared as text stories in issues 1 – 29 of the The Hotspur (second series). (The text series were probably published in one of the D.C. Thompson text comics. I don't know which comic at the present time). Several picture stories were also re-printed in issue 23 of the Red Dagger, with further stories appearing in the several Hotspur annuals.

I’ve included two issues featuring the text stories and several issues featuring the picture stories. The first series finished at some point after issue 82 and then re-started prior to issue 100. The series then continued until issue 132. There was another (re-print?) series in issues 268 and 291.

The following adventures of Danny Lorimer are from issues 1; 2; 47; 48; 49; 50; 51; 53; 55; 57; 59; 60; 61; 62; 63; 71; 80; 100; 111; 119.
